RESEARCH AREA: INFORMATION ASSURANCE
One US Military definition of Information Assurance (IA) Technology is "Information Operations that protect and defend information and information systems by ensuring their availability, integrity, authentication, confidentiality, and non-repudiation." At NSU, Information Assurance is a very active area of research spearheaded by Dr. Patrick and supported by a muli-million dollar grant from the Department of Defense.

Current projects include:
  1. Development of usable passwords (Cheryl Hinds)
  2. Using visualization to identify suspicious network traffic from sensor networks (May Hou)
  3. Developing an analytical tool for resolving signals from multiple security devices (Jonathan Graham)
  4. NSU Institute for Information Assurance and other research being done by Dr. Gregory Patrick
