An Assistantship Award is a contract between the
student and the Computer Science Graduate Program. Full-time students
should expect to work between fifteen and twenty hours a week
during the academic term and if the award is for a calendar year,
a similar effort (or an effort agreed upon with the supervisor)
will be expected during the summer. To continue to receive such
an award, the student should maintain a full-time status.
There may be other types of awards including tuition-wavers and
scholarships. Graduate students should understand any agreements
entered into when receiving these awards.
Graduate Assistantships
We currenlty offer the following types of graduate assistantships:
- Research Assistant
- Teaching Assistant
- Lab Assistant
Each of these assitantships require the student to be enrolled full time in the MS program
in Computer Science. This student would receive a tuition waiver and a stipend for the academic year to perform
specified duties for an average of twenty hours per week. The graduate assistant may apply for re-appointment
at the end of the academic year and must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0.
